Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Center is located in Reykjavik’s harbor. It was designed by the Danish firm, Henning Larsen Architects in co-operation with Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson and opened in May of 2011. In 2012 it won the Mies vander Rohe award which is the EU Prize for outstanding Contemporary architecture. It is a stunning building often compared to the Sidney Opera House, an amazing accomplishment by a country with 325,000 people. Every view from inside and outside is unique and amazing to see. It contains 4 concert halls with nearly perfect acoustics and employs a full-time light artist.
